Optical return loss test set
ORL3

The ORL 3 has been designed to test reflections from connectors and components in high speed digital and analog systems such as Telco, CATV, and WAN's. The ORL 3 provides the ability to perform both return loss (ORL mode), and loss measurements (OLTS mode) at 1310 nm and 1550 nm.
As an optical power meter (OPM mode) the ORL 3-4 measures up to +23 dBm for high output systems such as CATV and amplifiers. The supplied Test! software allows the ORL 3 to be connected to a PC for real time measurements and long term stability tests when operating in OPM mode.
The non-volatile memory stores up to 900 loss readings for down loading to a PC or printer for full fiber documentation. The test set is also equipped to generate and detect a 2 kHz tone for isolating specific fibers from a bundle when used with an optical fiber identifier such as the Noyes Fiber Systems OFI 200.
The power options of the ORL 3 provide flexibility by offering the ability to operate from three different power sources. The test set will operate from the rechargeable NiCd batteries, 9 volt alkaline batteries, or an AC power adapter.
TurboTest 500B

The TURBOTEST 500B Series by Noyes Fiber Systems offers the latest technology in a single fiber bi-directional loss and return loss testing which provides the exchange of loss data and references between units.
The TURBOTEST 500B is a handheld fiber optic test and measurement instrument. It performs three fiber optic measurements: Optical Power (OPM), Optical Return Loss (ORL), and Optical Loss (OLTS) measurements.
In automatic TURBO mode, the instrument performs both Optical Return Loss (ORL) and Optical Loss (OLTS) measurements. Two TURBOTEST 500B units are required to perform bi-directional insertion loss and return loss tests on a single fiber.
The TURBOTEST 500B can store up to 1000 records (40 files) in any combination of its four operating modes: OPM, ORL, OLTS, and TURBO (OLTS/ORL). Stored test results can be downloaded to an optional serial thermal printer or transferred to a PC for a complete report generation.
Designed for use on spare singlemode fibers, an optional dedicated digital TALK option is available for full time/full duplex communication between test operators while testing other fibers in a bundle.
The field rugged, fully portable TURBOTEST 500B is powered by the internal rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery pack or external AC power adapter.
